a few months ago in late august, my friend threw a ladies afternoon tea party that was absolutely perfect. good food, good friends, good conversation = a good time. there’s something special about dressing up for “afternoon tea” and I think we should do it again, in fact more often if possible. so, I put together my version of a fall inspired tea party (with a few Caribbean influences) in case we do decide to have one (then I’ll be ready).
the “rules” say that for the spread, the afternoon tea should have a layer of sandwiches, a layer of scones, and a layer of tea cakes. I prefer to KISS (keep it simple and sweet), so I have just 3 offerings for each course with some variations. have you thrown a tea party? let me know how you did it.
