‘its tea time: winter

when the weather outside is frightful…but the fire is so delightful…if you’ve been reading this blog, you know how much I enjoy afternoon tea and so I decided to put together an afternoon tea party menu based around winter seasonal produce. will this warm things up mid afternoon on a cold day? tell me what you think!

warm harvest pot pies via vegan dad (not typical, but I like this option..comfort food, veggie style)

goat and mascarpone cheese, fig jam, & caramelized pecans tea sandwiches via oh how civilized

apple chicken sausage crostini with apple kale* slaw tea sandwich via tea time

scones

cranberry* orange* tea scones via king arthur flour

easy cream scones with fancy lemon* curd via apt 2b baking

note: there aren’t any set-in-stone rules for afternoon tea but (according to the bbc good food) “…a standard afternoon tea comprises a layer of sandwiches, a layer of cakes and a layer of scones or teacakes.”
